Kimberly Jackson’s Womanifesto

i am a woman,
i am a daughter, a sister, a lover.
i am a mechanic, a technician, a cat-walk crawling, ladder climbing, wrench toting bitch. i am sour and salty. i am sweet. i reach for the sun. i live by the moon. i do not yield to men. i will listen to what you think, but i won't always think you are right. i have a brain. i am beautiful. i have fallen. i have been broken. i have been bleeding, alone, crying and scared. i have healed. i have found my strength. i am no longer afraid. i will love. i will love who ever i want, for why i want. i will hold other women close to me, as they have held me close to them. i know that a group of women are invincible. i will not let anyone take my soul from me again. i will hit back when hit. i will attack when attacked. i will watch my fears crumble before me. i am the girl your parents warned you about. i am a woman. and i see who i am, more clearly than anything anyone has ever seen before.
